Here we are, off to a new year. This one will be full of activities. In the News area of this website you'll find infomation with most of the years events. But also check your newsletters monthly or by-monthly for any changes in dates or new activities.
We started this year at the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter in Stillwater, for the Holiday Dinner. The turnout was good with over 50 in attendance. This year instead of a TV we gave a print of an original painting by Dale Klee, titled "Bugs & Things". Dale is a local artist from Wyoming, MN. It became the hit of the night as almost everyone wanted to win this painting. The lucky winner was, Ron Morris. We had it mounted and framed at Michael's Crafts in a large 36" by 24" frame. You too can own a print by calling Dale at 651-464-2200 or check out his website at www.oldcarart.com. The print is $85.00 plus shipping. Dale's print wasn't the only big prize. The club also gave out two $100.00 bills and Ron Lischeid (our Bug-In cook) brought in gift cards, a $100.00 and two $50.00 from IKE's Bar and Grill, downtown Mpls., on 6th St.,
www.ilikeikes.com. Barry Lindahl managed to get some of the local VW dealers to give some gifts for the give-away. I'd also like to thank Tim Pahl for the pins he donated and Jay Snell for the large photos he donated.
Our first event is the In-door Swap Meet, April 18th, at Barry Lindahl's Northland Collision. Then on to our Garage Tour, Tech Session, Burger Runs, and of course the 23rd Annual Bug-In, June 7th. We also have some new things still in the planning stages. If you think you have a good idea for an event or questions, please come to the meeting. The meeting is held in the upstairs at Westside VW on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm, or call me - Rich Meyer 952-544-1679.
